It’s no secret, there’s a gender pay gap. In fact, studies report that the gender gap in negotiation may in part explain why women in the United States earned only about 77.4% of men’s median annual earnings in 2011, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. So with the recent pay dispute between Oscar Award Winner Monique & Netflix, I’m tackling a few do’s and don’ts of negotiating, how to prepare for a negotiation discussion, plus what to do when a negotiator insists the “monetary offer” is firm.
