I’m passionate about giving back to the community. A huge part of my business model is devoted to partnering with organizations that promote women’s empowerment and cultivate leadership in young people.
“Ms. Kandia has truly been an inspiration to me! From the moment I met her she has always challenged me to think beyond the “norm” and do things that other young ladies my age can’t even fathom. She has always encouraged me to dream and ensured me that they will come into fruition if I continue to work hard and show myself worthy. It is an honor and privilege to call her my mentor!” -Donnice Peterson
As a mentor to several young professionals and the Director of Girls Going Global, a non-profit organization helping to expose young girls to the cultures of the world, I help create opportunities to bring together ideas and people from across the globe.
After working closely with students I realized most of them lacked critical communication and technical skills needed to enter the job market and ultimately land a job. So over the last 2 years, I’ve hosted webinars and workshops to connect college students with professionals in the field. Here’s a snapshot of some of the topics I’ve covered:
- Personal branding
- Global Awareness
- Social Responsibility
- Job Preparation
Ultimately, my mission is to take young professionals from beyond the walls of the classroom to provide them with real-world skills and experiences that college just hasn’t prepared them for. Sounds scary right? Well, I’m sure you’ve heard one of my favorite quotes: “If your dreams don’t scare you they’re not big enough!”
